Appearance: The heart beating inside him may have added decades to his lifespan and kept him in peak physical condition, but a long life fraught with trials has left its mark on the Archduke. His face began to wrinkle when he was merely forty years old and only have increased in size and depth as the years of stress piled on top of him. Now his hands and face have many deep lines and countless more shallow, but still noticeable wrinkles. His hair is a dark oily gray. It is wavy and he wears it long enough to cover the back of his neck. He has a well trimmed mustache and full beard that covers both sides of his face as well as his chin. If one stood close and looked for it they would see a small scar largely concealed by facial hair the runs downwards through the right side of his lip and the slight paralysis it caused.
 
He is a tall man with a classic v-shapped build and taunt muscles. This is generally concealed by loose clothing and a tendency to round his shoulders forward making him look inches shorter. He has a bloodless white complexion, his face is sunken with age accenting his strong cheekbones, chin, and jaw line. His eyes are a cloudy muted shade of gray and seem to look through men rather than at them. Under his shirt he has a scar across his heart, as do all who have undergone the black sacrament. His is unique that the scar was inflicted by a large axe rather than a surgical scalpel.
 
Lord Eisler's preferred manner of dress is an unbuttoned black frock coat over a gray waistcoat with a white shirt underneath. He wears a white cravat around his neck tucked into his waistcoat. His legs are covered by black knee breeches, long gray socks, and high cut black leather boots. The many buttons and buckles on his clothes are a metallic color between that of silver and iron.
 
Equipment:
 
He carries a three and a half foot long cane made of polished rosewood with a small silver cap at the end. The cane conceals a slender dual edged straight sword.
 
His frock coat has metal plates sewn into the interior similar to the plated mail seen among the 15th century Persian military.
 
He is the sole proprietor of the Night's Watch. His word is law and he has unrestricted access to all things and places within the castle walls including an insurmountable amount of gold and ancient texts. He has many connections that spread to all corners of Europe and across the Mediterranean.
 
Abilities: Little is known about the nature or limits of Lord Eisler, but there are many rumors floating through the castle halls. It is said that he is both a peerless swordsman and among one of the most magically gifted blackheart to have ever lived. He is also known to have an unmatched knowledge in all supernatural matters.
 
His sword style is unique, but heavily influenced by the tradition of fencing. He is quick and unpredictable in his attacks, being able to seamlessly switch between stabbing and slashing. He is skilled in blocks and parries, but relies largely on footwork do avoid blows and force his opponents to step the way he wishes. He uses nimble movement and misdirection to create and exploit openings in his opponents defenses.
 
 
Passive: As a blackheart Lord Eisler is physically superior to a normal in a human in nearly every way. He is physically faster, stronger, and more resilient than mortal men and has an increased lifespan and healing factor.
 
Having Fae magic pumping through him he is immune to the any fairy magic that effect the mind or senses.
 
Detect magic:Lord Eisler can detect magical energies nearby.
 
Active:
Enhanced condition: having mastered the power of the blackheart Lord Eisler can temporarily increase one of the physical capabilities beyond the normal limits of a blackheart, but not to the extent of a blackheart subtype that specializes in enhancing that attribute.
 
Greater Detect Magic: By focusing and using a bit of magic Lord Eisler can detect smaller magical energies and magical energies that are being repressed or hidden from a greater range.
 
Accelerate: The fairfolk are known as being both nimble and merciless creatures. Using the power of his heart Lord Eisler is able to greatly increase his movement and attack speed. This is a separate boost from enhanced condition.
 
What makes Eisler truly feared is the power of magic he can cast on others. His spells decimate the minds of his opponents. He can use these spells on multiple opponents and combine them together for greater effect. These effects are permanent until he wills them to stop. While far greater than his physical abilities, these spells are also more taxing on his sanity.
 
Paranoia: strikes the target with irrational and debilitating fear.
Dementia: destroys the victims: memory, and the abilities to use language, focus, or reason.
Frenzy: throws victims into a blind rage, they will attack as long as they are able paying no head to who is friend and who is foe.
Conceal: can temporarily remove people and objects from the perception of victims.
Construct: creates illusions that can affect any and all of the senses.
Mirror World: distorts the spatial sense of the victim, flipping left and right, and/or making the world appear upside down.
 
 
History: The Archduke is one of the most experienced members and the leader of Nights Watch. He has held this position for over twenty years. Most of what else is known about him is regarded to be rumors and speculation.
 
Fredrick was recruited into the watch as a child on the night his biological parents were killed. The Watch was going through a rough patch then. Heavy demand meant rangers had less time to train, knowledge of the enemy was limited, the life expectancy was short, and black sacrament was frowned upon by most. This environment made it easy for those to survive to climb the ranks.
 
After fending off a small scale attack on what was the main base of the time, young Freddie earned his place in a unit at the young age of 15. Much happened in his time as a ranger. Many new leaders rose and fell. It was in these years that he distinguished himself by learning anything others were willing to teach him. As long as he was fit to move, he was perfecting his craft. After he underwent an emergency black sacrament his reputation grew faster still. Command was passed to Frederick when he was a young man of 30. At this time he was also named lord of the castle and became a noble through the forging of many papers and the bribing of officials, as was custom in the watch.

Appearance: Josephine has always been told that her face is an open book. Her hazel eyes shift from blue to green and any mixture in between. Often, the colors will change according to her mood, green being jealous or angry and blue being relaxed. However, it probably only seems to have that affect because the redness in her face gets worse when she is either of the former. The epitome of gingerhood, this female has frizzy, often untameable red/orange hair that swells right below her shoulders. Her cheekbones are high, giving a deceivingly innocent look to her. Freckles are splashed across the bridge of her nose and cheeks.

Her body is built like a ballerina; she has long legs and a compact torso. She reaches about 5 foot 6 inches, pale skin and brown freckles covering her lithe figure. She never developed quite like the other girls, a fact she secretly despises. Instead, she was blessed with tone arms and legs as well as flexibility.

She is not necessarily a head turner but she is attractive in her own right.

Equipment: She carries the standard issue rifle, revolver, and back up sword. Or at least, she's supposed to, but she will usually dump the sword for a dagger and a few extra rounds. The dagger is not special in any way shape or form either. All of her equipment is basic, considering the fact she is brand new and doesn't have the authority to request personalized gear.

Abilities:

-Sharpshooter: Exceptionally talented in her guns. There isn't a gun she can't handle. Her accuracy is jaw dropping and cunning eye. She graduated at the top of her class all four times she went through training.

-Inefficient Swordsplay/Hand to Hand: Considering the fact that she focuses only on what she's good at, she was always a little subpar with close range weaponry. This makes running out of ammo especially dangerous for her.

History:

Josephine lived an idyllic, tranquil life in the countryside. She was able to do what she wanted, when she wanted. So, one day, when she stole a horse from the barn for a joy ride, imagine her surprise as a mythological creature began to chase her down. She never felt fear like she did in that moment. The great werewolf foamed at the mouth like a rabid dog, trampling the ground as it ran on all fours.

The great beast sprung up and attacked her horse, sending the young Josephine flying forwards. She landed awkwardly on her legs and bolts of pain shot up through her. It began to devour the horse with gusto, blood coating its fur. She whimpered, finding her legs paralyzed from pain and terror. The noise brought her to the werewolf's attention. Its black beady eyes looked into her soul. She was frozen as it leapt forward, eager to devour her flesh.

Just then, a shot rang through the air. The creature howled in pain and fell to the ground, just a couple of feet away from Josephine.

She would remember being carried away, seeing her house on the horizon for the last time. She was told she couldn't go back, even after she recovered, and that the best way to keep her parents safe was to kill more monsters like the one that chased her. She would never know if the werewolf had devoured her family before it came after her.

A year later, Josephine enlisted to join the Night Watch. She had already lived among them for a little while, as many rescued children do.

Never one to be bossed around, Josephine had a hard time with authority. She never realized how many rules there would be. She had no problem with not having relationships or not having ties to the community, but it was the orders she couldn't stand. When to sleep, when to get up, when to eat, when to... ahem... relieve oneself, it was all too much for this hothead. Therefore, she was consistently washed back for retraining. She was nineteen by the time she graduated, despite having enlisted at 15.

As such, her personality growth was stunted as well as her combat experience. She never saw a real battle during training and had an idyllic idea of monsters dying with no fuss, just like the werewolf from before.

So, we're starting the RP soonish. Like in a day or two. So anyone who hasn't made bios better make them now, else you'll miss your chance.

Planning on starting it Saturday but note that the intro post is a tad long. I'll let you guys relax for a day or two after the post to read before I expect replies.

To make clear what Berry said about the bios, once the first mission briefing takes place the number of PCs will remain the same. The only way to get in after that is for someone else to die, and Berry says I can't kill anyone without a damn good reason. My own amusement is apparently not one of those reasons.

List of things in the enevelopes everyone recieved in my last post.

A map of the area you'll be going to inluding the most heavily traveled trails and suspected rest areas.

Description of the creature including weaknesses and a sketch.

a more indepth version of your briefing. You'll be jumping onto a train to get there, a boxcar will be open. After you finish you'll stop at a bunkhouse or something to tip off an informant to send someone out for clean up duty. Maybe ask for an atic room or something. I don't know, Berry can use her imagination.

Everyone keep using your imagination, becuase I'm stealing stuff from you.

I'm giving an extension on singups since a new member has shown interest. Tazz is taking the last blackheart spot and we have one normal human spot left. To be in you need to post prior to leaving the group leaving the castle. New participants can pretend their character has been with us the whole time.

Appearance: Marshall's age camouflages his formidable size. Most look at him and see a slightly hunched old man with a long face full of deep wrinkles. When standing fully upright, which he is fully capable of doing, Marshall is about six feet four inches tall and a robust two hundred and forty pounds. His body is very muscular for his age and mostly covered in thick auburn hair. On his head is a thick mane of a hair a shade darker than the hair covering his chest, legs and arms. He keeps his hair tied back in a loose ponytail with a thin strip of leather, when he lets it down it hangs to the small of his back. On his head he wears a faded old fedora and he is never without his old leather trench coat. Under the coat is a simple button up shirt and worn jeans. His eyes are the color of faded blue jeans. His face seems to be frozen in a permanent scowl, but on the rare occasion that he does smile, it is friendly and sincere. He has large hands and feet and long arms, though again, most do not immediately notice his size due to his age. He also has three long pink scars extending from above his left eye and stopping just above his lips.

Equipment: Marshall is a simple man and likes simple gear. He carries a large fixed-blade knife, few cigars and a expensive (and ancient) looking lighter, nothing more.
He always wears his long leather trench coat and his fedora.

Abilities: Besides the enhanced strength, speed, and agility he enjoys, Marshall is also extremely long lived. He ages very slowly and only looks as old as he does because he became a Blackheart late in life. Marshall also has enhanced senses including sight, hearing, and mostly smell. His sense of smell is so adept that he can actually sense subtle changes in a human body and become aware if they feel intense emotions like fear, nervousness, or even if they are telling a lie.
His most useful, and dangerous, ability is his ability to "ascend", as he calls it. He does not become an actual wolf by any means, in fact even in his ascended state he could pass as a human in dim light. His teeth get longer and sharper as well as his nails, his hair gets a little shaggier and his eyes become luminous. The real difference is his physical abilities; including greatly enhance strength, speed, agility, stamina, and dexterity, as well as a "sixth sense" which allows him to take a 360 degree mental note of his immediate surroundings (ranges about thirty feet in every direction). This "sixth sense" must be used consciously and works like a photograph, not a film. In other words it is one still-shot of his surroundings every time he intentionally uses the ability. It is useful for watching his own back and finding stealthy foes.
Ascending causes Marshall to become feral and he has very little control. He uses it very rarely, only when the need is desperate.
Marshall is also
In his normal human form, Marshall can lift about 400 lbs and run at top speed of 35 mph. When ascended, he can lift about 900 lbs and run top speed of 90 mph.

History: Marshall is a quiet and thoughtful man. When he does speak, he is gruff and does not mince words. For this reason few know his true origins. Most assume he is actually much older than he truly is, because they assume he became a Blackheart when he was young and aged over many decades. In truth he was already forty-nine when he killed the werewolf that would supply the heart for his transformation. Before then he had no interest in becoming anything other than human. He was a loner that had no love for the world or their problems and only hunted because he enjoyed a good fight. He believed that he cared nothing for his own life, until he was diagnosed with a terminal disease. It was then, in a rare moment of self-reflection, that he realized he had regrets. He regretted living a selfish life. He regretted never having a family or close friends. He regretted much, and he wanted more time to make it right. He had intended to find and kill a ghoul for it's heart, ghouls were his area of expertise after all. It was only shear coincidence that he ran into his first werewolf and killed it. He was very impresses with the fight it put up and even had a few long scars on his face to remember it by.
After becoming a Blackheart, Marshall committed himself to becoming more personable and to helping others. While his personality still leaves much to be desired, he makes an honest effort to show compassion, even if he is not always friendly.

Appearance: A sturdily built man, tall and athletic in build, perhaps not the largest of men but gives across a sense of physical fitness, on his fairly thick neck stood an oval shaped face with a prominent chin, decorated by piercing icy blue eyes with low, sharply slanted brows, with a pinched nose and a small narrow mouth, a fairly thick chocolate black beard and mustache, complimented by well groomed, silky soft matching black hair that stops right at the bottom of his neck, the entirety of his physical form framed by a rigid posture.
His voice has a hoarse and throaty tone to it, but also there is a strange contrast and a small trace of lilting within.


When it comes to clothing, Charles isn't very reserved. A dark blue trench coat made mostly out of polyster with a bit of cotton and gore tex for unpredictable weather, and vest underneath with a silver gold-ish color to it. with two web patterned silver pauldrons sitting on his shoulders, complimented by a two vambraces extending from his lateral epicondyle all the way down to his wrists, with a set of simple brown gloves completing the piece, this trend also contains to his leg wear, two plain, simple silver greaves with victorian style brown shoes.    one can see a brown piece of cloth wrapped around his waist, with pouches all around for anything he may need to bring along, to store, or pick up.

Equipment: Charles may not carry a mini armory underneath his coat, but the two weapons he does use are top of the line work, first his Colt Model 1862 pistol revolver, a sturdy piece of work marked by its excellent in production. with a brown and black tiffany hilt hilt marked by germanic scrollwork and a silver painted finish on the barrel, loading lever, cylinder, frame, hammer and trigger guard. A powerful gun capable of taking down powerful foes, its only let down by inaccuracy out of short mid range at best.

His second weapon is his trusty dagger, with an elegant metal handle allowing a strong grip on the knife, with the same germanic scroll work decorating the hilt. The blade itself is a charcoal colored, with a very sharp end. The sheath is golden, giving it its very own stylistic touch.

Abilities: An expert at hand to hand combat, Charles isn't characterized by his use of one particular style, but his ability to improvise quickly and efficiently with all that's around him, good at using all sorts of melee weapons, be it a sword or a glass bottle. The same goes for his use of fire arms, capable of using all sorts of fire arms like rifles and pistols with accuracy and efficiency. But this is also bit of a weakness for him, for example when put against a person above average at sword fighting, he'd probably be defeated, he's a jack of all trades master of none, good at everything and an expert at nothing.

But one thing that gives him an edge are his magical abilities. He has no directly offensive or even defensive magical properties for that matter, rather having a host of supplementary powers and illusions that give him a slight edge in combat. Of course, tapping into the unknown takes alot of effort and energy to pull off, thus he uses his abilities sparingly, which include doubles, environmental manipulation, slight increase in things such as speed when using his knife or engaging in hand to hand combat, or increased steadiness and calmness when using his gun.

I'll write the history in tomorrowish.

Name: Kuruk (Apache for "bear")
Age : 32
Years of Service: 8
Appearance: Merely knowing the meaning of Kuruk's name tells you all you need to picture him perfectly. He towers above most men of the era, standing at 6' 2", with large, burly arms, and broad, strong shoulders. His eyes are sunken into his skull, and are colored a dark brown, appearing black to those who don't look closer. His skin is a dark bronze color, cracked and baked from long hours under the Arizona sun. If you would shake his hands, you would discover they were strong and calloused from a self made life and hard work. Perhaps the only thing about him not bear-like in the slightest is the fact that he lacks a full coat of furr, though he does possess a bear like layer of fat that masks the powerful muscles underneath. He does have hair, though, it's dark blackness growing to the small of his back. He wears his hair in a braid, with a colorful assortment of beads and different sorts of feathers weaved in.

His clothes are fairly common for his line of work. He wears a simple cotton, long sleeved white shirt, with pockets on each breast. He owns a pair of riveted denim jeans, which he bought from a mining camp's general store. His boats are made of leather, and your average, run of the mill cowboy boots. He wears a poncho on top of everything, made of wool and treated to be completely waterproof, and dyed to be black as night. He wears a belt around his waist, with two holsters for his pistols, a loop for his tomahawk, and a sheathe for his knife. He completes the ensemble with a Stetson calvary hat, colored black to match his poncho. When heading into combat, he wears a chain shirt under his poncho, as well as some miscellaneous steel armor plates about his body.
Equipment Kuruk carries an assortment of equipment, not all of it weaponry. For weapons, he carries two Colt Single Action Army revolvers, which he refers to as the "Peacemakers," a Winchester Model 1982 rifle, a 10 gauge Wm. Moore & Co. coach gun, a Bowie knife, and lastly, a tomahawk. His tomahawk's handle is made of steel, with a slightly heavier than usual head. His guns are all factory standard, stamps and all. He carries a stachel and a backpack, in which he carries miscellaneous equipment, like a length of rope, rations, a sewing kit, a first aid kit, a cookbook, his personal journal, an encyclopedia he's been compiling of magical creatures native to the Americas, etc, as well as a bountiful mixture of shotgun shells and .44-40 winchester rounds for his rifle and handguns.
Abilities: After many years on a horse, first as an apache, and then later as a cowboy, Kuruk is an expert rider. He is deadly with his firearms, and quite adept with his tomahawk and bowie knife, especially after the extensive training the Night's Watch has provided him. He is able to read and write, though he keeps this ability secret to those he meets. He knows a wide variety of knots, and can lasso anything with legs, to a certain extent. He is handy with a cook fire, and has been praised more than once on his cooking. He sews most of his own clothes, and is profiecient with a needle and thread. He has a near super natural ability when it comes to tracking animals, whether it be a man or a small field mouse. This ability makes him invaluable when tracking down magical creatures. He speaks english fluently, as well as a smattering of native american dialects, and is passable in canadian french and spanish.

Yes, I know. I was using modern names for the sake of accuracy. Mexico had a lot of territory at this time, and if I had said mexico, he could have been anywhere in there. >.>
