This is the OOC for The Forbidden Art.
Just a quick review, we are leaving the hot springs after a heated encounter between Ret and Kailyn. Due to the removal of the original thread, we cannot post any IC in this forum.
Plot:
No one ever thought that using their given powers would be a horrible mistake. However, when scientists realized the implications of using magic, it had already been too late.
Not long after the catastrophe, the use of magic was banned. Any and all users would be put to death immediately, children included. Due to the lack of the “sorcery carrying” gene, it had become more and more rare. A few hundred years after the law had passed, magic became a myth. Lore was renewed to its former glory. People forgot.
A group of inbred, insane sorcerers, the Chosen, as they call themselves, decided to bring back sorcery. They also decided on genocide, where only the magically affiliated, the “strong,” will survive. They are powerful and dangerous; the only way to kill them is to fight them with a long buried secret: the enchanted weapons that destroyed their ancestors.

If you involve the Chosen in your history, please remember that this is a recent occurrence, as in, within the last year.
I’m willing to allow exotic races in, however, I’d like to keep a pretty level playing field so that people do not have an overwhelming advantage. That means no angels or demons, immortals, or something along those lines. I’d prefer if most characters were humans or human-like (I.E. the classic elf or dwarf).
The Chosen is an available slot! I'm going to allow a total of five mage antagonists. There are a total of fifteen in the Chosen, so that leaves ten that will be NPC's that I'll control. Please remember that I'd like to keep the playing field level, so I'd like to keep it one for one.
In total, the maximum of magic using players should be ten, which is five on each side.

Available classes:
1. Warrior – Archery, Sword, Double Wielding. Warriors are extremely strong and resilient, less likely to go down in a fight. However, they are slightly weak to magical abilities.
2. Rogue – Dexterous and sneaky. They are able to avoid detection and blend with the shadows. However, they are weak towards the brute strength of warriors.
3. Mage – Can manipulate the elements around them. Mages are extremely strong from a distance, but if hit, they are down. Also, limitation as to how much magic they can use, since magic will drain them fairly quickly. Element must be present for use and within reason, as in, no huge waterfalls of death from a puddle. Still, you may get creative! Lightning can be generated from the static electricity in the air, water taken from surrounding plants. Only two compatible elements for each mage. I.E. You cannot control both fire and water. Fire and lightning are okay, since lightning can cause fires. We can have repeat elements if desired. Also, second element must not be shown right away in the story. So choose carefully!
4. Paladin – Either a warrior or rogue who hunts down mages. Will have a bonus to magical resistance but will most likely be a loner from the mages in the role play.

Appearance: She stands at about five foot five. She resembles more of a tree than a woman with her small curves, which makes her body look younger than she actually is. If you look at her face, however, there is strain apparent throughout it, her eyebrows almost always together in stress and worry. Her eyes are as dark as fertile dirt, almost black. Her hair is a light auburn, shoulder length, most commonly occupied with a few stray leaves that got stuck to her on her travels. Her nails are short and have caked dirt underneath them from the various times she has dug. Her skin frequently has cuts from thorns in various places, mostly her fingers and arms.
Items/Apparel: She wears cloth shirts, pants, and sandals, all of the same earthy brown tone. She wears a belt which holds a large water flask and two pouches, one full of seeds and another of other random supplies.
Personality: It is very hard for Kailyn to open up to people due to her magic background. She will very rarely complain, but it is just as rare to hear her laugh. She thrives off of sunshine and is in a terrible mood when it is gone. She is thoughtful and quiet for the most part. However, she has a more playful side that she will only show to those she trusts.
History: Kailyn’s first memory was when she was six. Her mother was so disappointed that, once again, her vegetables had died. Kailyn just wanted to make her happy, so she whispered to the plant to grow. The next morning, the entire garden was bursting full of fresh vegetables. After she showed her mother, she was treated like some sort of monster. By that afternoon, she was hog tied and gagged and dropped off at the nearest orphanage. There was a blank spot between there and when she was twelve, when she was getting beat by the boys there. She cried out in pain and asked if the earth could swallow her and protect her. It obliged and blanketed her with a layer of dirt, leaving a pocket of air. She remembered the gasps that she heard from the boys, who ran away to the headmaster. After digging her way out, she took a chance and ran as far as she could. It wasn’t until she dropped by the nearest town to sell her fruits and vegetables that she caught wind of the Chosen. Everyone spoke in hushed whispers about it, afraid if they talked too loud, they would summon the sorcerers.

Appearance: Kailyn is the definition of “girl next door” pretty. She has shoulder length auburn hair that is naturally wavy, not curly. She doesn’t wear makeup usually, but when she does her eyelashes can touch her eyebrows when they are curled. Those long lashes frame dark brown eyes that occasionally have flecks of green in them. She’s on the short side, reaching only five foot five. She never “filled out” her clothes well, which gives her a look of being younger than she really is. Her magic requires her to dig into the earth, so there is usually dirt caked underneath her short fingernails. On top of that, she thrives off of the sunlight which blessed her with tanned skin and a randomization of adorable freckles. The only thing that hints at her age is the strain around her eyes. She has soft features on her face with high cheek bones and a mellow jaw.

Appearance: Around 6'7" in height and has a muscular build. His skin color is a light tan color from training and his hair is a tannish-blond color, and very short and spiky with the occasional brown streak. Drake has a scar that goes from his right-shoulder to his left thigh right across his chest. His eyes are light blue in color.
Armor: He wears full iron clad armor from the base of his neck to his feet. Under the main armor is a set of chain mail to protect his armor’s weak spots, under the mail he wears set of tan cloth clothes.
Weapons: A magical sword called Zadric and a dagger strapped to his side. He carries a bow also but rarely ever uses it.
Additional Items: He carries around a bag full of his other items, which include, a pouch full of golden coins, flint & steel, a flask of water, and some beef jerky.

Zadric’s Abilities: A sword made to fight off mages, and enchanted to drain nearby mages energy, unless the owner wills it not too. The energy can be used to give Drake a jolt of energy, give the sword extra cutting power, or be unconsciously redispersed into the nearby area. The energy drained could also be used to reinforce his armor, but is rarely ever done since it would only work when extremely close to the magic wielder being fought.

Skin: Her skin is pale and unusually soft given her mother's family's past of being rough skinned (even for the women). Her upper arms and back bear a few scarcely noticeable scars from her past. There is an odd marking on the back of her hands.
Clothing/Armor She wears a leaf-green minidress (it falls to half way down her thighs) and opaque lime-green tights along with a sea-green sash around her waist. She also wears elbow-length silk gloves, to hide the marking, and a silver tiara keeps her hair out of her face. She also wears knee-high boots in a deep forest green. These boots are pointed and have a golden trim.
Weapons: A unique and lightweight longsword called a SpiritSword. It has a thin silver blade with a pink pommel and handguard. A small spirit shard (containing her father's essence) is set in the pommel and causes the blade to glow with a soft and calming purple glow.

Extra Items: A small pendant that contains a picture of her parents together, with her at a single day old. It disappears when she unleashes her Spirit Form

Weapons: The SpiritSword disappears and becomes her claws. While sharper and easier to control, she has less reach with her them.

He stands at about six feet, usually looking down at those below him. His midnight black hair is cut short and kept short. He will occasionally sport a five-o’clock shadow but prefers to stay clean-shaven. He has a strong jaw with the attractive “jaw clench bump.” (Fans of Channing Tatum will know what I’m talking about. *melt*) When a rare, full grin graces his face, there are hints of dimples that grace his cheeks. Has crimson red gauntlets/ arm guards on that go from the base of his fingers to almost his sholders, putting the top of them under his sleeves. Skin: Like all of his kin, the skin he does show is rather dark, and bears the scars of a multitude of battles. His lengthy tail, which is of length thrice his human body's height, is covered in blueish scales in a pattern that is akin to the waves of the ocean.
Clothing/Armor: He rarely wears much, other than a unique garment, with an attached belt to stop it from moving, that hides his body below the waist up to about a meter along his tail. He also wears a unique shoulderguard on his left shoulder, which is bladed to emphasize damage over protection.
Weapons: Grungineer: An odd polearm that is believed to be one of the anti-mage weapons of legend. Like most polearms it has a lengthy haft. Unlike most polearms it has a sword-like tip at both ends and the handle in the middle can be split apart to turn the polearm into duel weapons. The haft was hewn from mahogany and the blades are made of a silver/steel alloy fashioned into the shape of longswords. One part of the haft has 'With these blades Magic shall be purged' inscribed upon it.

Appearance: Falks is 5'7" with short white that has recently shown red tips. Armor: Titanium plate legs etched with runes that make it as light as steele. He wears no armor on his upper body.

Appearance: Vladimir has flowing black hair that resembles massive porcupine needles. It tends to trail off into the air, since it's mostly shadow. This trait comes from his Daitengu bloodline. He has emerald-colored eyes that reflect light like the stone itself, a tall body (6'3") with slightly tanned skin. He had two black horns that jut from his skull, seeming to curve, but actually bend slightly and slightly "lift up".
Clothing/Armor: Vladimir wears a standard black Shinobi shōzoku with Tekko-kagi/i] (hand claws) attached to the back of the hand. Also on are black-iron thigh, humerus, and wrist plates with the kanji for daitengu (烏天狗/i]) on it. Under the suit is chain-mail armor infused with tempered steel. He wields a katana he calls Kuchisake-onna, which means "Slit-Mouthed Woman". What the weapon does lives up to it's gruesome name

Appearance: Delicat, even if far from human, she is still considered very beautiful and can subdue lost and wondering men with her beauty. She is a 5’9 with a elongated body and lightly built, with comparatively long bodies for her mass, which makes her very agile and capable of jumping things twice her height. Delicat has a muzzle narrower then a dog’s and slender canine teeth. Her tail is half of her body length and long, fluffy and reaches the ground when on two legs, once she ages by a century she grows another tail. Her lightly amber eyes are oval shaped and vertically oriented. Her forepaws have five digits, while her feet have only four and has no claws. Her fur coat is very long, dense, silky and fluffy. Her underfur is brown at the base, then silver grey, black points at her ears and paws then a white tip at her tail. Delicat also has long silky, smooth black hair that cover her left eye down to her elbows.
Items/Apparel: Has a small pair of daggers tucked away in her boots, a hairbrush and a pot full Primroses. Delicat wears a red dress with black around the collar and bottom that reaches to her lower shoulders to her upper thighs. Delicat also wears a pair of black high heel boots with hidden pockets in them so she can hold her daggers, a pair of red gloves on her paw like hands and a white rose on her right ear.

Race: Half human, half mercury elemental

Appearance: In human form, he stands in 6'8, and is thin, with well compacted muscles, his irises are colored like mercury in this form, aswell as his hair. He also has long legs and arms. In his elemental form, he is made entirely out of mercury, with an elongated, cylindrical neck, wich is covered by a stone collar, with spikes of the same stone on his pauldron. His hands have two massive gauntlets of stone with three fingers, to allow him to manipulate objects. His chest is covered by stone ribs.
Items/Apparel: He wears a dark green duster while traveling, with khaki pants and matching shirt. He carries no weapon, since he can generate them himself. He is fused to what he calls the "stone cage" which helps him keep a constant human form.

Appearance: Ulrich is a menacing ushi-oni, but usually keeps a human form to keep away suspicion. He has solid black eyes, with wild untamed silver hair falling to his shoulders. He has four massive horns sprouting from his head, but one is cut in half due to recent battles, black cow-like ears, and unnatural razor teeth and elongated canines, slightly poking out from his mouth. He has a slim build but is quite muscular. His nails are filed and pointed.
Items/Apparel: Ulrich wears black cargo pants, black fingerless gloves with claws on the back and nothing more. His chest and upper body are covered in tattoos of several dozen yokai that all face to the region where his heart is. In that space is a black, ghastly orb. He wields a black Zweihänder named Onibaba. It's the third weapon in the Legendary Blades of the Yokai Lords *the other two being Wanyudo and Ryūjin*. It is surrounded in a ghastly aura that comes from the one hundred Onibaba inhabiting the weapon. It can consume flesh, making it a foul weapon to use. The side-effect is having your mind slowly destroyed, making the wielder psychotic.

Fur: His fur, and scales to an extend, take on a golden hue with White and black highlights dotted around. It's not too long but not too short. It also includes Natural Modesty Patches as standard.
Skin: Underneath his fur his skin has a pale hue. A few cuts are hidden on his chest. His wings darken towards a brown the further from the scaly areas.
Weapons: Dragon's Bite: An ancient weapon that is believed to date to times before the Magical Genocide, this two-bit axe has an odd design allows it to be effectively wielded in any way and an enchantment that allows it to return to it's wielder when thrown and gives a minor resistance to mana-draining effects.

*Appearance: Azirak is a six foot man with very light yellow hair and a pale but kind face. His eyes are yellow, and if you look closely the pupils flash once every so often. His skin is virtually unmarked, as he has never been involved in a serious fight before. He has a fairly tough build, and is is peak condition due to his training as a kyren.
*Items/Apparel: He wears leather armour, under a black cloak.

Abilitys: June is a Mirror Walker, a mage gifted in rare magic that allows her to travel between reflective objects and, occasionally, alter the world by moving things inside the reflection. As such, she has a special hiding place between mirrors that she stores her most important items in.
*Appearance: June is attractive. Her soft features and slim figure has proven itself in the art of tempting men, in the past. Her hair is mid-length, stopping just at her shoulders. Eyes are normally yellow, due to her being a mage, but she hides thier true color by wearing contacts that make them appear brown. Her hair was originally white when she was born, once again due to magic genes, but she dyes it black to keep people from knowing what she really is. She has a scar on her left shouldar that she keeps covered up from when people tried to attack her in the past after discovering she was a mage. Skin tone is verry light, almost pale, dispite how often she goes out into the woods. Likes to keep herself pampered and in good health.
*Items/Apparel: Although June has a vast collection of outfits, she prefers a simple dark dress that comes down to her knees, black boots that go halfway up to her shins, and a lght brown coat that covers the length of her arms. Always keeps her shoulder scar covered up to keep people from asking questions.
In order to use her magic without being caught, she disguises herself up in a kabuki-style outfit that people believe to be a spirit. The idea is to make herself as different from how she normally looks as possible. The outfit is padded on the inside to make her look bulky so people will think that the spirit is a man. The shirt and pants are a bright red with a yellow trim. The shirt is loose with large sleeves and a solid dark red leather vest. The area around the ribs and side is yellow. Pants are also loose and wide at the bottom like a traditional samuri, with a yellow streak along either side. She wears thick white gloves and thick white socks with sandals. To cover her face, she has a white mask and a large red wig that goes down to the middle of her back. She also takes out her contacts while dressed as the red spirit, revieling her yellow eyes. Overall, it's a pretty good disguise that keeps people from guessing who she really is. The look was inspired by a Yokai she has a crush on.
Normally June carries around a small hand mirror but when dresses as the spirit, she has a large heavy person-sized mirror that has a variety of uses. The spirit also has a few daggers that she can pull out of her hand mirror in an emergency, should the need ever arrive.
Personality: June is usually kind hearted, but doesn't really care what she says or does. She's beautiful and she knows it. At times she almost seems spoiled, despite how hard she's had to work to keep her abilitys secret. Is hopelessly in love with a Yokai named Vladimir, whom she will go to almost no end to please... even if it means revieling her identity as the red spirit. She's forcefull when things don't go her way, and all too willing to try and lie her way out of situations.
