The Forbidden Art

Tellas suddenly conjured a spherical barrier over himself to block the Glaive, "It was meant to!" he repilied before bringing up his leg to kick him.

Azirak hopped back, and slashed again at his face.
"Still, thats assuming Vera survives this whole thing, which i am starting to have doubts about."

"I'm going to eat your voicebox if you insult her again!" Tellas said, now reeling from the strike he suffered, but he used his momentum to spin around and strike low with his axe.

Azirak managed to jump the axe, but only by a tiny amount. He took a breath, realising how close it was. Even then, he couldnt resist another crack at him.
"Yknow, i noticed that you still havent answered my question about the eunuch thing."

"Your talking to fighting percentage... is too damn high..." He hissed gathering more magic around himself.

Aldaix smirked.
"You cant skip the insults. Those are the best part of a fight. If you dont get your digs in at the start of a fight, you wont be able to get them later."
With that, he raised his hand and fired a bolt of lightning at tellas.

"Guard!" he called, the magic shimmering into a new barrier. The lightning shot at him now danced along it and Tellas just growled, "Shut up. You should make like lightning and leave. You've struck once, you're not meant to strike again!"

Azirak laughed.
"lightning dousnt strike twice. but thats only because the sky is a terrible shot.
He snapped his fingers, and the clouds began to draw in.

"i will leave you with nothing!" He decided as he surged forward, swinging the axe in his hand repeatedly.

Vexoz charged forward, ignoring his pain. Keep focused. He raised his blade and slashed sideways as he ran at Drake. His left arm gripped the light blade and prepared to stab.

The warrior almost forgot about Teaisha. She would have to take care of herself....

Teaisha, meanwhile, squeeled as the flying four armed thing came at her with hooks. She looked up to see an ice wall she didn't even think about summoning appear to catch the hooks mid-swing. The frail sheet started to crack under the thing's force. No time to spare!

"Shatter!!!"

The ice wall rippled quickly. With Shatter, it would bust apart in one direction like a shot gun launching shards of jagged ice straight at the mermaid archer in a single direction! She would have to fly pretty quickly to escape the shards....

Azirak smiled.
"Goodnight!"
With that, a huge bolt of lightning shot from the cloud, shooting down at Tellas.

Tellas shook, his barrier had been shattered and the lightning bolt struck him hard with the remaining power it had. The Draco Lupus was forced to the floor but wasn't defeated. He groaned and had to use his axe to get himself up, "Fine... you win..." He managed to say, before taking a wobbly step back, "I've delayed you... long enough..." He added before strning and starting to hobble away slowly, having to use his axe as a walking stick.

Marneila's eyes widened slightly as the ice shot towards her. One cut. Another cut then what felt like thousands more, tearing at her flesh. Ripping at her feathers. Shredding off her scales. She screamed in agony as the ice tore at her body. Moments after she plummetted, "Azirak!" She called her voice and strength already fading, "H-help... Me..." her body hit the ground hard, her body splayed out and barely able to move, her hair wings and tail marred by blood.

Azirak smiled. He charged another lightning bolt in his hand and took aim at the retreating Draco Lupus. It would have been powerful enough to blow a hole in his back, if he didnt hear a cry that made his electrically charged blood run cold.
"Marnelia..." he whispered, and warped into his energy form, shooting towards the cry, before standing over the damaged body of the woman he loved.
"Please..god...be ok..." he nearly wept over her body.

Teaisha looked down off the building at the creature as it laid on the ground, bleeding and screaming in pain. Her own leg hurt as well, but not nearly as bad as that looked. Maybe she should put some ice on the thing's wounds?

A mischevious grin crossed her face as she dangled her feet over the edge of the building and started to aim her next spell. Ice formed around the four armed mermaid as it was frozen to the ground. While it would have been easier to use the salt water jet to freeze her, the Mana Spirit couldn't bring it upon herself to hurt the injured... whatever it was. Well, hurt them any more.

"Stay right there!" Teaisha shouted, obviously, at the frozen fish woman. "He's got to see this." She then began looking around, trying to sense Vexoz's mana and spot him.

Marneila whimpered as the ice foze her to the ground. She was like a fish in a barrel with a crossbow bolt at her face just waiting to be fired. When Azirak arrived her gaze locked on him. She tried to move even one of ehr arms, but she was too weak and the ice unforgiving, "h-help.. me..." She begged the man she loved in tears

"You'll live." Teaisha shouted down at the mermaid. "You may get a little wet, but you're wounds are pretty much closed and everything." Her voice took an almost musical tone to it. "Just lie there like a good girl, and you'll survive the invasion... ok?~"

It seemed like there was a guy down there with her. A powerfull mage, from the feeling he gave off. After looking around a little more, the Mana Spirit pretty much gave up on finding Vexoz for the moment. Might as well relax after a well earned win. She put her hands behind her head and laid back on the roof, enjoying the view.

Azirak looked down at her, he knew what he had to do, but he didnt want to do it.
"Marnelia..." he whispered. "close your eyes..."
He placed his hands on the ice around her. He wasnt going to enjoy this.
As he did so, he moved his face closer to hers.
"...i love you..." he whispered as he kissed her, and sent several thousand volts through the ice, melting it and evaporating it in seconds. that wasnt the end, as the energy conducted through the water into marnelia.

She understood, but the volts made her body convulse painfully, bringing out an almost ear-spitting screech of pain. she went limp, but was still breathing... Her look in her eyes before unconsciousness took her begged Azirak to get her out of there.

Azirak picked Marnelia up, and carried her into a nearby building, out of the sight of the fighters.
Fighting the tears that were forming in his eyes, he placed his hands on her, and several small sparks began to fly from them, to land on her wounds, and slowly heat and cauterize them. It should stem the bleeding...
He held her close to him, never wanting to let her go again.
"Marnelia...please...wake up..."

Marnaila's eyes opened eventually, "Az... ir... ak..." She breathed, "I... love... you.."

Azirak kissed her.
"I...love...you too..."
He looked at her, and realised how close she had come to death. That was it. He should have done it long ago...
"Marnelia..." he whispered. "I...love you more than words...can tell...and...i never...ever...want to be apart from you again..."
He pulled out of his pocket, the object he had made before this battle.
"Marnelia...will you marry me?"

Vera's eyes widened. Not that she was paying any attention to the fight she was actually in. She noticed Tellas down below, the lightning having struck him. The energy pattern felt far too familiar.

"Excuse me," Vera said politely to Robin, ducking away from the twin swords, "I gotta take a rain check! Be right back!" Vera called, flying away and towards Tellas.

She landed near him and immediately rushed to his aid. She gently laid a hand on his fur.

"Drappy?" Vera said, "Are you okay?"

Marneila's heart skipped a beat and her gazed turned to him, "Y-yes~" She manaegd to say, joy lighting up her face.

Telas looked as Vera his strength fading further, "V-vera..." He started, "I... can't fight on..." He said before his knee buckled, his axe slipping from his grasp ans he collasped to the ground, "My heart... is still... unchanged..." he added as he pushed himself up again. He let out a feeble howl before his arms buckled again and his body his the floor, alive but unconscious...

Asinoir, who was beginning to get pissed off, blinked a few feet away. "Your petty tricks won't best me!" As Falks drew his blade again, Asinoir followed suit.
"Asinoir Adonis... my friend Cee told me about you. It's interesting that you have the same last name as Kailyn." Falks flashed forward and slashed at Asinoir who dodged it. A little bit of hair fell from the man's head.

Flashes of light and wind echoed through the air, followed by bursts of sparks as the warriors' swords met. One last time, they came together. As the blades clashed, energy surrounded them and warped the area. Finally, both were thrown backwards as the energy became to much.

Hesitantly Cee reached out and placed Vera's shoulder, pushing his image into her mind. "Vera."

"What the hell?" Kailyn muttered under her breath. She didn't have time to think about this revelation however, as Ret yet again launched another attack. Kailyn sliced the ice spike in half as it barrelled towards her and managed to navigate away from three of the crescent blades. Unfortunately, she was too slow to dodge or deflect the other three.

One blade hit her inner thigh, the other her upper left shoulder, and the final her right side thoracic ribs. Kailyn let out a scream of pain as her skin was torn apart and blood rushed from the wounds. She couldn't be weak.. she refused to be weak... yet her body was no match to this super version of Ret.

Still, she was trapped. There was no way for her to go home. Would she ever see Drake again? Tears of sadness and pain mingled in her eyes, threatening to spill forth. She wanted to go home. But she couldn't. And if she couldn't and was doomed to die here, she would take Ret down with her.

Kailyn let out a war cry and spread her wings, charging forth. She rippled the earth under them and sent it upwards, shooting off random spikes towards Ret. She gripped her blood sword tightly and, once she got close enough, brought it down towards the Mana Spirit.
